This National Association for Welfare of the Physically Handicapped (NAWPH) is a leading NGO in Central India, which has been working dedicatedly for the welfare of the persons with differential abilities. Philanthropy & Humanitarianism is the basic mission of the Organisation. Although most of the Office bearers of the Institution are physically challenged, the Institution has been striving for the rights of the persons with disabilities.
Establishment
This Association was established in the Month of January 1984 with efforts of some like-minded social activists of the region and Registered on 16 January 1985.
Goals & Objectives of the Association
Its primary goals are:
• To bring an all round change in persons with differential abilities, especially
• To provide Educational, Training and Rehabilitative Services to Persons with Special Needs.
• To provide the opportunity of Technical Education to the Persons with Physical Challenges
• To bring them into the Mainstream of Developmental race
• To enlight the journey of their Social, Economical & Useful Productive Lives
• To facilitate their personal independency
• To support them in achieving their worthy citizenship
• To make them able to share in the national growth
• To initiate and promote research activities in the field of Special Education and Rehabilitation
The Life Membership of the Association
Any Individual (Indian Citizen or NRI) irrespective of caste, color & creed can be a life-member of the Association.
Financial Status of the Association
The Association has been running different sustainable activities, viz. 1) Vocational Training School for the Disabled, 2) Residential School for the Blind at Chikhaldara and 3) School for the Deaf at Nagpur, for which, the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Maharashtra has been supplementing with the staff salary and a very specific maintenance grant for the inmates. However, the Association has to meet all other requirements like, Infrastructures, Teaching & Training Facilities and other support services etc. from its members’ contribution & charity.
Besides, it has been running the activities like, Training Centre for Teachers of The Visually Impaired (TCTVI) 2) Training Centre for Teachers of The Hearing Impaired (TCTHI) at Amravati and 3) ) NAWPH Technical Institute, Amravati with fees from the trainees.
Similarly, it has been running activities like, Braille Library, NAWPH Extension Program for Education & Rehabilitation of Tribes and the Disabled, Information and Guidance Bureau for the Disabled at its own i.e. with members’ contribution & charity.
Annual Budget
Nearly 1.50 Crores INR for Programs related to Education & Rehabilitation of the Persons with differential abilities.

• Fully Equipped School & Hostel Buildings for Residential School for the Blind at Chikhaldara
• Fully Equipped School & Hostel Buildings for School for the Deaf at Nagpur
• A Well Furnished and Fully Equipped Building for NAWPH Technical Institute
• A well furnished & fully equipped library to cater the need of ongoing & proposed activities.
• A Well Accommodated Hostel & Dining Hall for Vocational School at Amravati
• Computer Lab for Diploma Courses
• Modernization of the Vocational Training Facilities
Donations
Donations made to this Association are eligible for Income Tax relief under Section 80 G.

Above all, we the office bearers and officials of the National Association for Welfare of the Physically Handicapped (NAWPH) sincerely appeal you & your esteemed Institution/Organization to extend earnest support in welfare of the differently able students of this Institution. This Institution has been working for Education & Rehabilitation of the persons with disabilities with partial support of the Government. But the Institution has been implementing most of its activities with noble support of the likeminded & kind hearted persons like you and charitable Institutions like yours. The Institution solicits your cooperation and worthy support in terms of Donations for Building Construction, Installation of Emerging Educational Equipments, Adoption of Student/s for attainment of their academic pursuits, Sponsorship for different Co-curricular activities, Special Support to the Economically Backward Students.
