NAWPH School for the Deaf & Training Center for the Teachers of Hearing Impaired (TCTHI) at Nagpur

The School for the Hearing Impaired (Karna Badhir Vidyalay), Nagpur has been running by this NAWPH since 1990, when there was only one Residential School for the Hearing Impaired Students in such a Fast Growing Industrialized City like Nagpur. The School is recognized and Licentiate by the Commissionerate for the Persons with Disabilities, Government of Maharashtra. At present 60 young Hearing Impaired Students are receiving the special education (Co-Education) and enjoying the residential amenities. A total number of 14 teaching and non-teaching staff members have been working for academic progress of the Pupils and to providing need-based services with high dedication. Admissions to the School for the Deaf are free of any charges for the hearing impaired children under 18 years of age irrespective of sex, caste, colour & creed.

During the year 2015-16, NAWPH School for the Deaf, Nagpur has celebrated the Silver Jubilee Year of the School. During the celebration, the Institution had organized various state level Inter School competitions for the Deaf, Blind and Orthopedically Handicapped Students at Nagpur in November, 2015 to accelerate the inherent potentials of the students with disabilities. More than 200 students for various competitions from different parts of State were participated.
